[Ry...]
Folks, Is it just me, or did something change in the new update in relation to the end park position option. I've been using End Park position for years, and I seem to remember that it didn't matter what probe was being used, at the end of the program it sent whatever probe was installed to that end park position. Now, in the latest version, it seems to matter what probe is installed The problem I have is when I run different mini-plans within the same program, they all end with different probes. This isn't an issue when the last probe is a -Z, but when using star probes that don't have a -Z, it stops the program at the end of the run, and reports an error that a -Z stylus is not qualified. This is causing problems with my operators in thinking that the program crashed or something they did caused an issue, and they are now stopping production at night when I'm not there. So how can I have an end park position that dis-regards what stylus is installed and just sends the probe to that position. I understand the risk of possible collision, but as an experienced programmer, I figured I can program well enough to mitigate that risk Any help is appreciated Thanks, Ryan

One is relative to Master probe position in Base alignment. One is relative to Master probe I believe to machine volume. The terminology may not be verbatim, but you get the idea. [Ry...]
I have been using stylus position in base alignment. As my fixtures are modular, the operators can move them around the table depending on what other parts are being measured/fixtured at that time. By using stylus position, it doesn't matter where the part is sitting on the table, the probe will always go to the same position relative to the part. Is there something else I should/could be using? The other options I thought were all related to the master probe so would go to the same spot relative to the table/machine alignment. Which I feel can be cause a crash if another fixture is on the table in that position. Thanks, Ryan
[Jo...]
Please sign in to view this quote. If you select stylus position with a Z minus probe, then end the mini plan with a large Y Plus stylus it could crash into the rack. It is active probe dependent. In the reverse condition the Z minus may not have enough travel to escape clearance plane.

I understand the potential for crashing, but I also know the exact probes that are being used and mitigate any potential for crashing by parking it in a position that does not crash. As well, any probe that is being used, will always clear the Z clearance plane before moving to the End Park Position. Thanks, Ryan
[Ry...]
Please sign in to view this quote. So I've been playing with the Position referring to MasterProbe in the Base Alignment as you mentioned, and it seems to be working for what I need. What exactly is this in compared to the Stylus Position in the Base Alignment that I've been using before? Thanks, Ryan
[Da...]
Please sign in to view this quote. My understanding is that the probe position just puts the current stylus at the designated position relative to the base alignment. The master probe position puts the head into the position in space such that the master probe would be at the designated position relative to the base alignment. It essentially ignores the probe geometry when positioning the head. The master probe MK (Machine alignment) position does the same thing, but relative to the machine coordinates.
