[Er...]
Is it possible to exclude certain portion of a curve for evaluation? I have a part that has 12 "teeth" if you will. The curve consists of a line to a radius to a line. The line sections have a .002" profile while the radius between them has a .008" profile. Is it possible to scan it once, and mask points you don't want used in the evaluation of the profile? I would hate to have to scan 36 different curves. How would you go about doing this? [To...]
Go into the evaluation window of the curve, under Limit evaluation, tick the Nom. Vector Direction checkbox. Click the pencil. Select the points you do not want to evaluate. Ctrl-click and/or shift-click will allow you select individual points or ranges of points.
[Ow...]
There are several options here (always is in curve) and there have been several changes in curve over the years so, explaining exactly how to do it depends on what version you’re running. If I’m understanding what you’re wanting to do, maybe the simplest way, in version 2020, is to select evaluation and select to limit evaluation. Click the pen icon and using the shift key (to choose several points at once) and the ctrl key select different points throughout individually, select the points of the curve you do not want evaluated. You can also recall feature points from the curve into another feature (curve, line, etc,) and select only the area you’re wanting to evaluate using range limits. In the link below, Mr Tom WiseGuy created a great video on how the recall feature points and range limits work (around the 6 to 8 minute mark?). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wDnvcBvC970&t=241s FYI (link below) , there is also a virtual curve training program being provided by Zeiss next week (4/26/ - 4/30), I’m not sure of the cost, if any but, it might be the perfect way to get refreshed or just learn about curve. https://www.zeiss.com/metrology/service ... 780077D77F
[Er...]
Tom/Owen, We are running 2020, so this is exactly what I was looking for. When it comes to curve and freeform, I am self taught because they haven't had it in the budget to send me to training. I will look into the virtual class. We do have an offline seat, so this might be a good opportunity. Thanks.
