[To...]
3 or 4 years ago, we had an XTR sensor and had an issue involving clearance planes that seemed to misbehave depending on the rotation position of the XTR. As I recall, there was a setting in the Compatibility Settings that needed to be set but I don't remember the details. I just set up an XTR machine in my Planner. I see "Optimized navigation for Rotating Carriers" and I see it is set to "ON". Is this the right one? Does anyone know if this still something that needs attention. We have a customer with a new Accura XTR and I want to give them a "heads up". We are both on 6.8.08 Thanks in advanced.
[Ch...]
Please someone answer this. I just got my XTR Micura and they got this crazy idea that I have to learn to use it.

With the Optimized navigation set to ON, it seems to create extra clearance but doesn't crash. With it set to OFF, it seems to work like it should. However, until I am on the customer's machine on Monday, I'll opt for the extra clearance until can prove it out.
[Wo...]
I always set it to "OFF", but I think the problem has been fixed. The other programmer at my company always forgets to set it, but it works correctly anyway. The release notes still state to set it to OFF though. [Ri...]
Is anyone using an XTR is 7.0? I'm trying to stop it from always wanting to clear the +Z before rotating. It wouldn't be so bad, but the part is 600mm tall. 🙁

[To...]
Please sign in to view this quote. Here's a trick I use with RDS when I want it to stay down. Step 1: On the last feature of a certain rotation (I'll refer to as feature1), I come away from the feature far enough away to not hit the part while indexing and add a position point. Don't close strategy window. Step 2: Next, I manually index the probe to the desired angle of the next feature (feature2). I move the stylus in front of feature 2 and add a second position point. (this will become position point 3) Don't close strategy window. Step 3 Next, without moving anything, index probe back to angle used for feature 1 and add another position point. Drag this position point to the 2nd position. When this runs, it will measure the feature1. Move to a safe position, then move to a weird position and then index right into the 3rd position point ready to go for feature 2. Of course, I use sub-clearance planes. I also use 0 clearance distance but you may need to add another position point to a feature to get out to a clear point. If you use have clearance distances, it will affect the position points and extra moves will be included. [Da...]
Please sign in to view this quote. I have 3 Micuras , only one has an XTR head. They all run off the same network programs. Is this setting affecting the clearance planes on my fixed TEE probes? Nav seems to add 12 mm of clearance distance along the probe shaft direction. It's not a big problem , but everyone asks " why is it doing that ?"
