[Jo...]
I have a Vast XT Gold and have been reading up on Disc qualification. I read the instruction on ring gage calibration method. I also tried the reference sphere . If I select Disc as the stylus type it forces me to do a manual qualification on reference sphere. My questions are: Can I select Tensor method to acquire deflection data ? Can I limit the area on reference sphere it uses for qualification ? [Ow...]
Qualifying the disk on the sphere is a manual method only and it's is going to automatically take the points in the exact same position you initially take them so, yes, you can limit them all you want but, I believe you have to take at least 8 points. Here is a video link showing it done. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r9udZxsxtKU When modifying the size to match the size measured on a ring gauge (as explained in instructions), I also like to set up a Gage Correction Qualification if possible as it will adjust the bending parameters to match the speed and force you've scanned the ring gauge and also improve roundness. [Jo...]
Gage correction is the part I missed. Thanks
