[Ra...]
I have a cylinder. I'm taking a circle at the bottom and top of the cylinder. Then i will create a theoretical line. This line will be used to to find perpendicularity against the top plane of the cylinder. Is it better to recall or recall feature points. If i only need the center then recall correct? [To...]
In this case, use recall. Also, if you're checking perpendicularity of the cylinder, edit the depth of the line to equal the cylinder's nominal length. Or, modify the reference length in the perpendicularity characteristic under the projection symbol.
[Da...]
This post has the potential to be highly controversial. Short answer is YES you can do that. Remember that RECALL recalls the circle as however you have the evaluation set. If you recall feature points, they come in as unfiltered. Usually I recall feature points when I am going to analyze Form.
[Cl...]
Also, won't Calypso prompt you with a warning if you are recalling incorrectly?
[Ra...]
Maybe a good and simple example will help me more. I know that Recall - you get center point of a circle recall feature points - you get the actual data points can someone add to this . Thank you for the help , you guys are awesome. [No...]
Please sign in to view this quote. Maybe a rule of thumb will help you to make the correct decision. Ask yourself: If I had to probe the element I want to create, would I touch the same points a 'feature point recall' will return? If the answer is YES, then use feature points, if the answer is NO, use recall. A simple illustration of what I mean: If you had to probe the line, would you touch the red points to do so? No? --> Use recall. There may of course be cases where this rule fails, like all rules of thumb.

[Ma...]
If you want to recall circles into a line use recall. If you want to recall them into a cylinder feature use recall feature points. In the first case, the resultant line will depend on the evaluation parameters used for the recalled circles. In the second case the, the resultant cylinder will depend on the evaluation parameters used for the cylinder.
