SpaceX Launch

That was so amazing yesterday. The SpaceX's Dragon was the first to do it and at a cost that is incredible. I didn't think they would beat Boeing Star Liner to the finish line. Now you can pay to go to the space station. I think they said that they can do two civilian missions a year to the space station.

I'm sure it 10 to 20 millions dollars but what else do you spend your money on as a Billionaire
If SpaceX wasn't in California I would totally work for them. Finger Crossed that they move to Texas.

SpaceX dragon docking at space station.
Amazing, wonder how many days they will stay in space? I think the Dragon capsule has 210 days max in space.

Inside the International Space Station's Node 2 or Harmony, the STS-135 crew presented the Expedition 28 crew this special U.S. flag and mounted it on the hatch leading to Atlantis.

The flag was flown on the first space shuttle mission, STS-1, and flew on this mission to be presented to the space station crew. It will remain on board until the next crew launched from the U.S. will retrieve it for return to Earth.

It will fly from Earth again, with the crew that launches from the U.S. on a journey of exploration beyond Earth orbit.

Great to see, congratulation to SpaceX, NASA, and all their suppliers.
SpaceX is assembling the Starship at Boco Chica, Texas.
Monday should be a 150-meter "hop" for it.

You don't have to wait that long to work for Elon, I think he's building his new truck plant in Texas.
I heard he was doing that because everybody knows trucks are a part of the family in Texas. It lends credibility to the brand to be a texas company.

If you liked that, you would have really liked to watch live on TV the Apollo 11 launch and landing as I did as a young boy.

Back in 1983, I was pretty close to the launch site and witnessed Sally Ride, the first American woman and youngest astronaut launch. Even though I was several miles away, the sound and vibrations at take-off were phenomenal. The earth shook...lol

I grew up in Orlando so every time there was a launch, you'd watch on TV in the classroom, then walk outside and watch the smoke trail go up and up. Even though it was about 50 miles away, you could watch it for a long while.

I once was eating dinner in a restaurant in Palm Bay, about 50 miles south, when they were doing a night launch. Same thing happened. Everyone was watching the launch on the TV's and then everyone got up and walked outside to watch it go up. I imagine the wait staff was hoping everyone would come back in....lol Night launches were the best. A huge fireball would light up the sky.

Glad to see the space force back in action...

It is pretty great that there seems to be a new space race, this time instead of countries its between private companies which most likely will result in some cool things coming out of it over the next 10-20 years.

When I moved to NY in 2018, I started at a company doing non-CMM inspection for transducers for Space X and it was not a great time at all. Seemed like they had a bunch of inexperienced engineers at the time and it was a nightmare. I'm still a fan of Space X & Elon but man that was not a good time.
