Color for Characteristics

So I have a problem as follow:
I set the decimal place to 3rd decimal. Lets say I check a nominal ID Ø3.000 tolerance is +/-.001, it's actual reports 3.001 exactly, how come it's still showing RED on my report? As I remember in the past version of Calypso, it should show YELLOW if the Actual at exactly the high limit. I was thinking something has to do with the round-off? How do I change the setting for this?

Any help appreciated!

Contura 2014 with Calypso 2019 (v6.8).

Hi Thanks for your info. How do I set to where it shows GREEN/YELLOW only to the rounded-off 3rd decimal actual result?
as you mentioned 3.00101, if it's rounded-off to 3 decimal would be still 3.001, my intention is to show GREEN/YELLOW in this case. If its actual is 3.00151 it will show RED because rounded-off to 3.002. is it possible?

I have been asked to do this by my superiors before. If that's what they want , I would try to put that responsibility in there hands. It is against the ASME standards rule "interpretation of limits". All limits are absolute. Dimensional limits, regardless of number of decimal places, are used as if they were continued with zeros. If there is no standard on the print and they convince you to do this, I would do it for the one part only and document the situation. Believe me, it will lead to issues. If you truncate decimals to 3, what happens if there is a dimension with 4 decimals? You should see what it does to your SPC charts and Cpk.

Also, if your tolerance is +/-.001"? You can not ignore .0004". If your tolerance was +/- .005 and you are out by .0004" then the manufacturing process clearly needs improvement.

I believe that the 6.8 update for Calypso added an additional color to the gradient color indicator. Red should now still be within tolerance because it is at max allowed. Purple is now the indicator for a true out of tolerance result.

Edit: See screenshot -- Is that what youre talking about or am I completely mistaken? This gradient color indicator always is reflected on our reports with the dark purple being - and the magenta being +

I have had these questions before as well. First, as others have mentioned, if your dimensions and/or tolerance are at 3 decimal places, you report should be at least 4. Even then you could still show an actual measure of 3.0010 and still be red. When asked here, I just explain the same as said here is that there is some decimal place further out above 3.0010 (001?) and the system still sees it there. It would be up to the person reading the report to make the call if it matters to them or not, but that way they still have some info to say they might need to make a process change.
