[Lo...]
YYYAAAHOOOO Whelp I did it. I have successfully programmed 2 parts from a CAD drawing. Some of the issues were Polly lines intersecting and making weird circles on the parts. I know I still a have TON to learn but it's a big step for me. LOL 7 months ago I didn't know what CMM meant! 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 I do appreciate everyone's help, I know more questions are to come! Thanks!
[Cl...]
Welcome to the wonderful world of CMM's! I can't speak for everyone, but I love my programming.

[He...]
Please sign in to view this quote. This is now the fun begins. When production and management come at you with everything they have. "I have measured this with my tape measure I get it right on the tolerance limit. Why are your result 0,001 mm out of tolerance?" "The CMM is to accurate. It finds error we didn't find before. But the part are still the same. you have to reduce the accuracy of the machine so we can ship the parts." "It is impossible to drill holes that is not round. You are doing something wrong!" "we can't use these datums in the milling machine. You have to change the CMM program so we get good results." The worst part is that these idiots will sometimes be right. You will make errors and fall right back into thinking "I don't know what CMM means."

Or, round it off to 3 decimals and make it green. Also, are you sure the part sits level on the CMM? What if you run the part on it's side. 😠

[Da...]
manager - "Why are some holes in the correct position, and some are not? Your alignment must be wrong." me - "here is the report on that fixture. The upper mount is out of position" manager - "Take it to tooling tonight. They will fix it in the morning" me (next day) - "Fixture was back and I remeasured. I still show the mount out of position." manager - "Yeah, I told them to take it back. I wanted to see if you could get the same results."

[SH...]
Please sign in to view this quote. "Cmm people checking wrongly" is a recorded voice for production people. What I do that, I proove it manually infront of them. Then, they will bit their tongues!!!
[Ri...]
Please sign in to view this quote. My favorite was "you measured it earlier and it was green, and now it is red". With the differences typically being less than a micron. 🙄 🙄 🙄 🙄 🙄 🙄
