[Co...]
I programmed my inspection in an offline seat. I then translated the CAD model of my part to position it differently on my table. I cannot get the planner seat to recognize the new part position. I've run manual alignments multiple times and Calypso still thinks my CAD is in the original location. [Za...]
I wouldn't translate your model after you finish your program, that should be done first before any programming. If you would have left program how it was and then did a manual alignment on the machine it should have been fine.
[Co...]
Seems to me like there's no reason I shouldn't be able to move my part and realign - that's the purpose of an alignment. This is what's effectively done when I go to place a real part on the CMM.
[Er...]
Please sign in to view this quote. You're absolutely right, there is no reason why you can't move you're part and re-align. What happened in this case is the model was moved away from where you created your program. so now the model is not matching where the program was created. To move the part and re-align, you don't have to change any thing in the program. Like it was mentioned, you simply put the part where you want it and complete a manually alignment. If you were to click additional features off the model now after it was moved, it would reference your program origin and give you coordinates based off of where the model was translated to. [No...]
What Eric said - plus, if you need to reposition the part in Planner to refelect a new position on the (real) table, use the positioning icon in the simulation window and make sure "drag base system" is checked.
