[SH...]
While qualifying this 8mm probe, I have an unusual sounds something like tik tik from the probe head. I observed significant sound only this probe, other probes might have but that is not audible. What could be the reason? Length not the probe? Not the adaptor plate problem.. I changed the probing force but no use.IMG20201226225029.jpg
[Da...]
Does it do it all the time or just when it first touches the sphere?

[Da...]
We have a spectrum TP 20 that does that alot, even while running a program. I asked the Zeiss tech about it and he said it was just re-gripping the head. He said it wouldn't hurt anything. He didn't know why it is doing it either. We have verified this machine several times with another machine and it is still accurate. Still it is bothersome.

[Da...]
I have a Contura G2, with a DT head (touch trigger only). Mine has done that too, but when I notice it, it is only on one of my longer probes in the (#1) down position, and only when the head is moving mostly in the "Y" axis. Like you, it does not seem to have any effect on qualifying the probe, and my measurements are unaffected.

Yes pretty much similar to my situation, I did not complaint to zeiss because they simply say change the probe head, I think in their dictionary the word repair is being removed. 🤣 🤣
