Theres multiple options.

Click out the points, convert to point set if you like to scan.

Or if you have 7.0 and curve you can create a curve relative to the outer surface surrounding the hole. (If it's very thin, I think they call it parallell curve?)

Yeah, but then you miss the point of keeping every points of the curve relative to a point from the curve on the outside. So that you compensate for dents or other error that might cause the probe to miss the actual surface.
Its really super convinient, this took a shit ton of time to do before.

Expanding on this method ….

If you measure the feature as a cylinder you’ll be able to create a point set the easy way with all of the handy tools at your disposal. Just be sure to constrain the normal vector so that it computes correctly. That is, if you intend treat it like a 2d feature.
