[No...]
Stylus DB connection errors are often caused by problems with the SQL server.
[Me...]
I've had this issue often when fresh installing Calypso on an offline seat for the first time. Either try installing a service pack, or uninstall/install Calypso.
[Ca...]
I'd start with a simple reboot. Maybe two. Sometimes it makes all the difference.
[Al...]
Make sure your SQL server matches the version of the SDCO scripts. We had to delete the version installed on my PC and re-load with the version that matched what Calypso was looking for.

[Da...]
Replying because I dealt with this today. there are some answers elsewhere too. The data/connection it is looking for is a MSsql database. First try rebooting to see if that clears things up. If not, check windows services and make sure the 'SQL Server (SDCO)' service is running. Try starting it to see if that works or it generates an error. From there you can check the event viewer log for any tell tail information as to why SQL isn't running. Or if it is but Calypso still has issues, make sure the C:|Users\Public\Documents\Zeiss\CALYPSO\config\equip\<machine>\sdodata.mdf and sdodata2.mdf files are present. It may wind up easiest to repair the SQL install by running the calypso setup and repair/reinstalling SQL
