[Ke...]
How you would you go about picking up the Probe holder position on a very tall back row on a Accura? The last row is taller than the master highest point. this is not my machine asking for a fellow programmer. I feel dumb not knowing the answer.20200910_221030.jpg
[Ma...]
Really don't know, but i would not try to do that without properly measured position. I have older rack with half of inner sphere. Newest have another method to get positions of holders
[SH...]
You should think this before assembling the rack.
[Ri...]
If you are really desperate, you could just make short masterprobe for you to be able to get the probe rack location, and then go back to the standard masterprobe.

[Me...]
I was going to say what Tom said kinda as a joke. But that appears to be your only recourse. Make sure your friend machines them exactly the same length. Check how they're put together. Cam locks seem to have a predefined length.
[Ro...]
Go buy a short probe, same diameter, and create a 2nd master. Then only use that master for rack assignments.

[Ro...]
Please sign in to view this quote. The problem they're having is that they have a cmm that was already in use, and somehow during an upgrade the rack assignment got lost. no backups anywhere. Neither guy is the one who originally set the CMM up and now they don't know how the original guy/gal was able to position and teach the rack so high because there's seemingly not enough Z stroke to do so. Someone somewhere used a little wizzardry, now they just need to figure out how they did it.

[No...]
We also use a short master probe for the Promax rack on our old MC 550 (450 mm Z range). But a few years ago a Zeiss guy told me that when using a shorter master, the CAA correction wouldn't work correctly anymore. I'm not entirely sure if he was right, but it's probably a good idea to use a shorter one only for the rack position.

[He...]
As others already have said. Get a shorter 8 mm stylus. I'm not sure if the masterprobe have to be loaded or not when measuring the rack position but if it is mandatory just change it temporarily while measuring the rack and the change back. Calypso does not care about the length of the MP in any other situation.
