How can Calypso compare scan points to CAD nominals?

Hello.

How would you set up a characteristic(s) and graphics in Calypso, if you were assigned the following task?

1. Compare scanned points captured on a tactile probe to the nominals in a CAD model and highlight deviations above a specific limit.

See the attached image from a competitor's software for reference. The end result does not have to contain the density of data that this image contains, as it was captured by a laser-line non-contact scanner.

Also, feel free to point me to previous posts, if available. Thanks!

You can use freeform to scan across multiple surfaces with a set density. Recall feature points into a Point Set / Point cloud. You can then create graphics as characteristics. In the characteristics, set the setting to 'CAD Deviation Analysis' instead of a static image. You can then use the CAD Deviation Analysis object in PiWeb to view your data.

You can also use CAD > Cad Evaluation and use the Banners to make a static image.

Couple different ways.

Laura, I cannot seem to find where your change the setting to 'CAD Deviation Analysis'. Can you explain a bit more please?
