Faro Arm Laser in Calypso

Good Morning All,

We are having a few issues with regards to getting a Faro arm to output from the LLP laser into Calypso. Works fine with the tactile sensor, but the LLP is calculating a single point per laser 'scan'.

Going along the lines of such Zeiss sensors as Linescan we are trying to populate a Point Cloud.

Our query is, are we going down the correct path trying to populate a point cloud and secondly how do we do this?

Any help would be much appreciated!!!!

In my limited experience with using a Faro-Arm with Calypso, you cannot "scan" like you can with native Zeiss sensors. It still just takes single points. If you tell it to scan, and run it across a surface, it is still just taking single points, and will take some time to populate the result.

It is possible that it has been improved since then, but that was my experience 3-4 years ago.
