[To...]
Any idea what is causing this issue with the 3D curve? Or what I can do to fix it?3D Curve Issue.JPG
[Ma...]
You have to replace / move curve points to correct order. 2D curves are not too much disordered as 3D curves, but instead of selecting cut lines by mouse frame you should select lines one by one in order of measurement ( those yellow lines ). Or you can choose from hierachy tab. Sometimes you have to correct vectors, but correcting curve points by order is common.
[To...]
I actually used the Creation tab in the Creating Features box to create a 3d curve using the yellow lines. I picked the yellow lines in order and entered how many points I wanted and clicked the 3d curve button. How would I fix the order of the points? [Ma...]
Unfortunately even this way is not errorless. Only way is manually reorder points within feature window. Open your 3d curve. In place where is shown points nominals there is on top left big arrow button. After clicking it will show all points. Just select which points are you going to move and select "cut" and then you must use "paste before / after" - there is another option "paste point before / after" which allows you to place 1 point instead pasting cutted part. This way you can place points in right order ( from start of yellow line cut to end ), correct vectors ( some of them can be inverted ) and change direction way ( like inverted segment ). ALWAYS watch all points from start to end if they are in correct order and right vector.
[De...]
I feel your pain. Ran into a similar issue with 2d curve. I measured each segment seperately, then recalled them into the curve. When selecting the features to put into the curve, select in the order they should be going, Also check that your paths are running the same direction. The goal is to make every point sequentially to the next for each segment and every segment to the next segment or the calculations will be off by a lot...potentially.
