This is a newer feature , but it shortcuts making aligments by allowing direct selection of "datum" features to level to.
I use it often.

I tried polar caliper, but I can not use it for my needs. I need to measure distance of two planes which are angled. I used normal caliper distance with help of rotated alignment.

Yes, Zeiss needs to provide an option for that. Pc-Dmis has a 3d measurement that allows planes to be measured in relation to the other without the need for building an alignment. It takes the vector from the second feature in selection.

If they are two planes, why would you need to do a caliper distance? The picture above confuses me.

If they are two planes, Cartesian Distance will create the distance for you.

I replied with solution of my problem - not the author. Will cartesian distance give me max - min - mid values? I think it will give me only distance from one corner of plane. I used alignment and caliper distance for sure results.
