[Cl...]
I have a true position of an OD to an ID. Both allow for LMC, but Calypso is only giving me LMC from the feature (OD) being evaluated, and not the Datum (ID)? OD Ø Nom = 7.8740 Act = 7.8606 Dev = .0134 Tol = .025 Position tolerance = .051 Bonus = .0116 + .051 = .0626 That's what shows up on my report, but nothing from the datum feature which is using LMC in the characteristic. My guess would be that it's ignoring the datum bonus because it doesn't need it?
[SH...]
Yes, I remember I have read in this forum that calypso use datum shift only when it is necessary. In bore pattern we can see the shift otherwise not possible.
[Ri...]
Please sign in to view this quote. The modifier on the Datum is not bonus tolerance. It is a virtual boundary. You will not see additional tolerance. Typically it would be reducing the error reported as the datum is allowed to shift now. If you throw this into a Bore Pattern, it will plot the MMB/LMB for you. [Cl...]
Thanks guy's, I actually forgot all about that being datum shift. And, I just read a post about that a few days ago. Short term memory go bye, bye. 😃
