[Ke...]
This should be an easy one for the GD&T guys. How much "bonus tolerance" is given for the case that: The hole diameter specification being evaluated is 10mm +0.2/-0; but the actual feature measures 10.3? The software gives the full 0.3mm, however it seems counterintuitive that "bonus" should be given for the 0.1mm over spec... I would think that only the allowable specified tolerance (0.2mm) should be allowed/applied.
[Er...]
Well, the bonus is indeed 0.3. Because thats how much extra tolerance on the position you have, for the fit. But you can limit it: Extras > Settings > Measurement... > MMC/LMC
[Cl...]
Calypso should have a built in safe-guard against applying any bonus beyond what is allowed. We all get complacent from time to time. I could see this getting missed.

If you change the default settings like Eric mentioned, I bet you won't make that mistake again. 😃 If you had been in one of my Calypso Basic training classes, that is one setting I would have covered. There are other things in Calypso that I feel should be default but I've learned to think of Calypso as a toolbox full of tools. Zeiss leaves it up to us which tools to use and how to use them. [Er...]
Just a question, you guys need to pay for stuff like standards etc? 😱 We have an online library containing pretty much every standard there is, from metrology to electrical to you name it. Most are accessable, with a click. (Binded version will be sent with mail if you wish) Those who isn't pre-paid, I'll just clear with my boss (who never denies my request) to "one click"-purchase. And the cost will be put upon my divisions account. I would never pay for work related stuff my self 😃 How is this done in your country/region? [Ch...]
I would never pay for work related stuff but I'm lucky enough to work for a place that will spend money on their quality department. I don't get told no very often. Eric, do you guys get to use Seimens software for free?

It's free for me 😃 Well, we are not the same division, I work for Energy, and the ones making for example NX is another division. So I guess we pay a small fee? I don't really know. One cool thing though, developers sometime reach out to Siemens employees working in the "field", So I have a part in the making of upcoming software for voxel data evaluation. (But the software will most likely suck.. 😃) If I leave, I don't think anyone cares if I take "my" books and my papers along.. If a company is getting Gestapo about accounting for your $100 worth of training materials then that company has problems.

I work for a company that mainly produces goods for Military, Aerospace and Nuclear customers so yes theft is theft. If its not your property then its not yours....period. I have controlled goods certification and if I'm convicted of theft there could be big penalties, not to mention never getting a job again in the military, aerospace or Nuclear field. But different strokes for different folks....you do you.
