Updated to Calypso 2020

After my IT installed the 2020 update, upon opening, "No Current stylus data found. Last known backup will be restored.” I hit OK to have vast use Master Probe. It then went to normal “home position” without problem.
I next opened up the Automatic Stylus system change and find no holders or stylus???
Then in the stylus system management there is only the Master Probe but with REDnot qualified????
Do I have to re-create rack, locations? What about the Master Probe, is there anything special I need to do with qualifying beyond normal Ref Sphere Position?

I hope you have a back-up for the 2019 Calypso files.
Your best bet would be to call the hot-line @ 1-800-327-9735 and let them walk you though the needed changes.

Put the call in. We were using 2017 version!!! All our programs are backed up on network so at least there is that, I looked and the file paths seem structured correctly. I guess the best call all week was to upgrade only one of our systems so we have the others still operable.

Attached is a 'MovingSoftware.pdf ' that that Zeiss support sent me as to how to install updated software.
If the File Folders and File information exist, you can copy them into Calypso 2020 and be up and running.
The attachment is self explanatory. 333_a2bd32ab7a3a51436e0ea448248fe3d4.pdf

  • 2 weeks later...
We lost all of our probe data upon updating to 2020 because of some incompatibility issues with the newer version of sql. Fortunately they were able to remote in to our machine, download the old database, and then run some special app that they have, and then they uploaded it and voila we have all of our probes back.
I would definitely give them a call and have them do the same to yours.

We are all set, calling was the best option. I do want to say that both of the .pdf instructions offered here are valid. The tech also sent this one by Gregory Kozera » Wed Oct 14, 2020 7:42 pm

But there were issues with licences and don't forget the patches!!
Basically the tech "almost admitted" it is better to call when upgrading for walk-through with them, not all is visible like other simple software upgrades. This is also part of their bread and butter so, why not let them play too??!! My next upgrade I will just call for a ticket prior to the attempt instead of all of the back and forth. Thanks all!!

2020 is a really bad release. My list of bugs is as long as a roll of tp.

One good thing though, programs created with earlier version seem to run just fine. (I have a test program I created, and always run on every new release, to verify that it works as expected.)
But creating new plans is not possible, if they are some what "advanced".

Mr Norbert, back from the dead? 😃

No, actually I was refering to creating a 3d-line, by recalling a center point, and then several (looped) intersection points radially located. Nothing wierd at all.

But the list just goes on. If you have a different loops, eg () and [], and try to create stuff, based on index from different ones and they all belong to a looped coordinate system. You recive nothing but errors.

It's a shame, because for the first time, in a long time. I was really excited about the new functions, functions I need.
Well, long story short. I gave up, and will await atleast the first service pack before I toutch it again. I'm sure it will be great in a year or so.
