[Da...]
So I was watching the O-inspect measuring hero video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s0h7s-E1mHA), and they talked about using mirrors and prisms to inspect side features on a part. Does anyone have any documentation on doing this? I was especially hoping for information on building alignments across optical elements, and if it was possible to Any recommendations on sources for mirrors etc? [Cl...]
Fortunately we have a rotary on our O-inspect, se there is no need for mirrors.

We are trying to looking inside a 4mm bore, at a right angle to the bore axis, in order to characterize some weld parameters. I found a mirror that will work, but I have never used one before, except for some visual checks.
[Cl...]
Why can't you use the rotary to rotate to the feature your inspecting?
[Am...]
I am about to purchase some mirrors to start playing with this, how well does it work? it it accurate enough to do measurement?
[Da...]
Please sign in to view this quote. We can't see it from the outside at all. The feature is on the inside of a hole. Essentially, we want to look sideways at the inside of a 4mm bore in order to examine some weld features on the inside wall. Sectioning the part is possible, but we really want to avoid it, since the parts are very small and flexible.
