[Ja...]
When actual values of points for base alignment are not zero, how do you make them zero? For example, a plane for the base alignment has 4 points. 2 points are really close to zero but the other 2 points are like 2-3 mm off. I think they all are supposed to be the exact zero. [Ma...]
If they are part of one element, then they never be zero in real life. Only that element which is used in base alignment. Usually gaus in ISO and tangent in ASME
[SH...]
Please sign in to view this quote. Two,three mm off 😱 Your production people has a serious problem I think.... What type of plane it is ??offset plane, recalled plane or usual plane??
[Ja...]
Please sign in to view this quote. So I have a point, 2D line and a plane for the base alignment. When I execute base alignment all the actual values are not zero.

[Cl...]
You seem to be constructing features for the Base Alignment, that don't need to be constructed. Any particular reason why you are doing it that way? That's kind of the long way of doing things. Not being critical, just asking.
[Ja...]
Please sign in to view this quote. I'm learning how to program it by myself and I only have an example program. The example program that I was given seems like have features just like what I have.
[Cl...]
Got it. If you probe a minimum of 3 points on a planar surface, Calypso will recognize it as a plane. Two points in succession for a 2d line. Two 3 point circles at different heights for a cylinder, etc. This saves time and allows you to apply filters/outliers/evaluations. [Ja...]
It is not clear on how are you setting up your base alignment but I am guessing you use standard method with plane datum X for spatial rotation, line datum Y for planar rotation, datum Z point as two of your origin co-ordinates and datum X as the last origin co-ordinate. In that case, if you look into the datum X, you should have one co-ordinate set to 0, and both projection angles set to 0. In datum Z, you should have two co-ordinates set to 0 and in datum Y, one of the projection angles set to 0. As for other values being off, there might be different reasons. For e.g. x,y,z values of that point 6 might be just due the actual point being at that offset from origin or some other reason. I cannot say for certain unless you provide some information on how the parts looks.
[Ja...]
Some how I fixed the problem and our production team will make some adjustment on the product. Thank you all for your advice and help!
[De...]
Reporting the points separately then recalling them into a plane could yield info for manufacturing potentially. I know this is really basic, but make sure your stylus and part are both clean and that your stylus is qualified and yeilds good sigma and radius values.
