mystery move in autorun pallet

I have a pallet standing up in the YZ plane with a 4x4 array of parts. I'm using LOS positions to identify where the parts are. Everything is working well except between each part, the Contura RDS head moves up to the top of my Z clearance plane and also moves in -X so that the RAM of the machine is approximately centered over my fixture. From there it moves back to the X+ side, then down to the next part.
While I'm happy that no crashes are occurring, it's unsettling to not understand where this mystery move is coming from and it's also a waste of time.
Thanks for any ideas!

Thanks, John, but I have no end park positions in my program...
I also have no position points in features that would make this happen. Any other ideas?

IDK , I'm not familiar with the RDS clearance moves. Unless there is a clearance cube blocked edge or something of that nature forcing the move up and over so it doesn't interfere with the adjoining part. There could be a relay point hiding in the feature strategy as well..

Did you checked your clearance plane has X minus for your start or end feature or there may be any CMM position point inside the strategy window. Try to give large z plus and small x plus clearance cube distance. Calypso use shortest path for navigation if there is no any predefined path.

I believe this is just a safety feature. Most people run their parts in the XY plane, so they don't notice it, but Calypso loves always traveling out of the cube via the +Z CP, so most likely that it what is happening at the beginning.

From my experience, I think Richard has the right idea. Is there a clearance box for the pallet that is larger then on the individual
parts? I have had this happen when somehow I had the probe left within the clearance box, just that it does not always want to try to get out in "Z" like Richard suggested. My luck has been for the system to pick the worst possible direction to go (usually X or Y) so that it runs into something.

If you are using a Star Probe you might be seeing it clear the head in the axis.

With pallet and star probe with the RDS XXT I tend to use drive points (CMM position without probing) and keep my clearance in Z only to avoid that move.
