[To...]
I learned something new today. When it comes to an Offset Plane, you would normally open the Offset Plane feature and place 3 points on your model, or 3 points on your part, then click Evaluation and Edit Points and enter the offset value of each point the desired plane location. Click OK and OK and if everything goes right, you'll see the plane snap to the desired orientation. I tried to do it 3 times and it wouldn't work even though I was very careful to follow the same, precise steps. It worked the 4th time...lol Today, I tried Recalling 3 intersection points and then edit the offset values and it doesn't work. HOWEVER, if you go into evaluation and edit the point offsets first, then go back and Recall your points, it works like a charm. If you want to use real probing points, go into evaluation and enter the offset values first, and then place your points, works right every time. [Ri...]
I've only used it a couple of times, but I don't remember this issue. It might be a version specific issue. I wish they would let you use more than 3 points. I had a part that had 7 target points for Datum A that were all at different heights. It was a pain to offset each point to then create the offset plane.
[Ma...]
Using more than 3 points is useless. Stable plain is defined by 3 points and each part sits on 3 points only. It's bad drawing.
