[Cl...]
This is for those of you working in medical device. Are you starting to see demand for products used in elective surgeries go up? We have seen a decline and have had our hours reduced by 20 percent due to lack of work.
[Ja...]
I don't work in medical. We primarily make laminations that go into electric motors and transformers. We make parts for a company that puts one of our parts in a respirator and that was our excuse to stay open. We have had a drop in orders and all our salary employees took a 20% pay reduction. I am still hourly so I didn't get cut.
[Am...]
I think our medical has been pretty steady still maybe a bit of a drop off but we make parts for literally every industry so its been ok we haven't had to cut down hours for any one in production or quality, but non-direct labor has done 1-2 week furloughs. Q3 has been slower with the new orders.
[Ün...]
We manufacture automotive parts to Europe and have around 90% capacity. According to the plans, we will continue at the same pace until the end of the year.
[se...]
I was at a company who's bread and butter is mostly medical implants/instruments. (sold to 4 of the 'big guys') Made it almost to August, but then they had to let go 25% of the company, and I was on the wrong side of the chop. For me? there's plenty of work out there, just might need to move a state or two....

[Me...]
We are medical. We were buried through July. August slacked off. Projections have us picking up again in Oct.
[Ro...]
We 'seperated' about 20% of our workforce, but other than that our machines have never stopped running. Were actually going back into 6 day mode which is what we did for the 8 previous years before the crazy times.

[Me...]
I'm in constant contact with a design engineer from my old job in medical devices and the demand is so high they can't keep up. It's been that way for 3 years now. They're working 12 hour days for all 3 shifts.
