[K...]
We just install calypso 6.8 (2019) by Zeiss application engineer, CMM table was Plain Z-axis, manually hits around the shaft in order to develop a cylinder. Please see the picture. I will appreciate if someone can answer my query that why the space axis is shown as X-axis instead of Z-axis? Before installation of calypso 6.8, whenever we took 5 or 6 probes around the shaft, it give us perfect cylinder. Your opinions are really valuable for me.CYL .png
[Mi...]
It looks like the points may have been taken in a bad order. Can you try to take 3 points around the cylinder at one Z-Height, then 3 more points at a different Z-Height? I suspect Calypso is trying to create the cylinder in order of the points taken, and if the points are all at different levels, it is extremely hard to create an axis. For a 3D feature like a cylinder, it is always best to make the basic 2D shape at one level (In case of a cylinder, the 2D shape is the circle), then create the axis of the shape afterwards at a different Z-Height. Let us know if this helps you
[SH...]
I agree with Michael statement,I think you are working with automatic feature selection. First you select the feature icon then measure the cylinder. Your vector direction changes according to the point selection method.
