Rotate program

Hello.

I created and completed a program based on a tube part being on its "side." 3617_1096de708d98d31c9d9927ea52f5a2ea.png
Just found out the custom fixture for it, holds it the same direction but its rotated "up."
I just rotated the CAD model in the screenshot to show how it should be. 3617_489bd611e4e4c8c64ccc7f214cda0c57.png
Is there any way for me to rotate the whole program? or do I have to start all over again with this correct rotation?

Thank You,

Leave the model as you had it and just select the styli you want to use for your features.
Do a manual alignment and it should work out.
The CMM doesn't care what orientation you have the part.
I asked the same question last week and it works.

Yes it will work.
But you can create a coordinate system rotated by 90°. Tick the keep position or what ever its called in a feature and change to the rotated CS. Then just paint brush the rest.

There are certain paths for planes that are made a certain way to avoid any collision. If I rotate the part then those paths would go in a different way. Would I have to change those as well?

I cant find to create a coordinate system. Are you talking about an alignment? So I create one without choosing spatial and planar? I reference the base alignment but rotate it 90Degrees?

Would it automatically check everything correctly after I run with the part rotated on the fixture? or do I have to change paths and choose Stylus?

I think you should just modify the base alignment. Either go to "special" and add 90° rotation about x, or just redefine the "planar rotation" feature to a different axis. Then hit "clearance planes from CAD model" again, just to make sure they're in the right place (they don't move with the part when you reorient it).

The only thing to watch out for would be if you have, for instance, a star probe assigned to measure the slot; if so, you'll have to change the stylus or stylus system assignment.
