[Me...]
At this time we are running 2018 (6.4)on 2 machines. I assume the new one will be at 2020 (6.8 or 7.0?? I don't pay attention). Anyway I believe programs should be able to go back and forth with little trouble. Or maybe not. The two machines we have at this time are Win 7. Will this be the problem area? [Ri...]
Please sign in to view this quote. No issues using 6.4 programs on newer versions. If you save it in 6.8 or 7.0 then you will not be able to use it in an older version.

[Me...]
Dave, Contura. I'm mostly concerned about the two machines I have that are running Win 7. Would that present ANY conflicts. Aside from warranty issues.

[Ro...]
The biggest issue i have with different versions is calypso will ask you EVERY TIME if its ok to save when closing a program because the different version. Its not a big deal, but a constant irritant when running programs on a machine that was saved last with a different release. But that also happens when you do a software update, so its nothing new. And from what i can tell there is no "do not ask me again" button to click and turn the message off. viewtopic.php?f=13&t=3302&p=21572&hilit=online#p21572

My thought process is that they do that because of you not being able to use the measurement plan in an older version once being saved in the newer version. It's better to be certain. [Am...]
I feel like zeiss needs to figure something out with their version compatibility because as it is right now its pretty annoying, there is new versions coming out all the time every time you buy a new machine its guaranteed to be a different version. Every zeiss we have (8 of them) are different versions and and 3 of them were installed withing a couple months of each other. Very annoying honestly because the compatability doesn't go backwards and i have to mess around with their version file to get it to work or be mindful where programs are being saved.
