[Me...]
Anyone ever seen anything like this? We haven't stopped laughing...
[Da...]
We have the passivation note on several of our products but none that call out the heat instructions.
[Me...]
I've seen a million Passivation notes, just not one that instructs you to "Bake at 400-450° one hour after Passivation"
[Cl...]
Don't forget to flip after 2 hours and let cool for 30 minutes before slicing. 😉

[Ow...]
Used to see a lot of stainless drawings specify "pickle and pacify".

[Da...]
Don’t know the standard but I guess it will be a salt spray, copper sulphate test, or humidity test. Then a de-embrittlement.
[Me...]
Please sign in to view this quote. There are plenty of posts that have ZERO to do with CMMs or Calypso in this forum. I just figured some of the guys that have been here as long as I have would appreciate that note.

[Ni...]
Please sign in to view this quote. My company does lots of parts that require passivation for the Nuclear industry but I've never seen a "bake for..." call out. I'm interested to hear the answer as to why. Sorry can't be of more help. [Cl...]
We bake enamel painted parts, that's the only reason that I can think of to bake.
[Da...]
As i said it is quite common for parts to be heated post passivation as a de-embrittlement due to (if I remember rightly) hydrogen embrittlement during passivation - this is often known as baking. Often in high vacuum assemblies the term ‘bake out’ is used when applying heat to assist with creating a better vacuum. Not always a term used in making tasty buns 😁
