Calypso Reporting Collision/Touching a Surface in Mid-Air

My team and I have rebooted, qualified, re-qualified, changed different stylus, and cleaned our stylus, but are having issues with
the machine. For example when I would pick up a probe I would drive it over to my reference sphere and in the middle of the air it
would read on the pad that it was touching a surface. The light on the control pad would come on and the green light on the probe
head would turn on as well. Not only does it do that, but in mid-air it would also say there was a collision. Is there any way anyone could help me figure out if its a hardware problem or software, also to see if I could fix or adjust
anything before we send someone to come calibrate or repair any issues?
