Flatness Ref

Can someone expound upon the input parameters for Flatness Ref Characteristic ? The print requirement is .013 mm per 25 mm. I used the 25mm for length 1 and length 2..

So now there is a choice of overlap, reference each plane/zone, and limit angle.

I use a 50% overlap. It basically takes the square and overlaps that surface area by 50%. I know that explanation sucks and I'll try to make a picture if I can get a minute.

Well, that's explanation is worth something, it's experience. So 50% overlap should cover all the iterations of that distance requirement ? I am only interested in in reporting the worst zone. The feature has a total flatness and this refinement.

I think this will report what you are looking for. We use this to detect leak conditions caused by sudden jumps in flatness. Almost like a kink point.

Similar deal. It is a high pressure flange that has critical zones of leak path. Tool marks are not permitted to be continuous. This would also detect a mill step from multiple passes. Total flatness callout is generous, but the refinement really is the challenge.
