Outer Diameter from Torus

I would do this:

1. Measure as surfaces
2. Recall feature points into a torus
3. Recalculate nominal geometry
4. Improve the results by iterating the recall/recalculate
5. Calculate the outer diameter by adding the subsidiary diameter to the main diameter of the torus or use the outer tangential element if available
6. Verify by other means (caliper/micrometer)
7. Validate by making an R&R study
