[Li...]
The machine was recently calibrated and had a software update and new computer installed. Lately the drives have been kicking off. At first it was once a day. Yesterday it happened 6 or 7 times throughout the day. Error is 115 drive monitoring has shut down +E7952!:Axis and 6 command rejected. For some reason while the CMM is running a part a window opens for "scheme ACIS interface drive extension" and shows on the taskbar. If I click on it and open it it says "not found" vertical along the side of the blank area of the window. I thought this opened at the start up of Calypso. Not sure why its popping open again. [Cl...]
I arbitrarily received that same message last week. No problem here with drives though. That ACIS error is usually associated with some sort of CAD problem.
[No...]
No, that ACIS error is shown all the time and is usually completely harmless. 😉 The messages in the ACIS window have nothing to do with the machine or Calypso. They are purely CAD (more exactly: CAD core) related. Of course there CAN be a CAD problem which leads to certain messages in that window, but it's also full of countless messages even if there's nothing wrong at all. The ACIS window is some sort of console window opened by the ACIS CAD core (similar to Windows command prompt). It outputs messages (as you noticed) but also acts as a command line interface to the CAD core. If you input the right commands you can generate all sorts of funny things in Calypso's CAD window 😃 By the way, you can permanently suppress the ACIS window in the system section of the CAD settings. [Ro...]
I get that drives shutting down problem from time to time, and for me it always has to do with air pressure. We have 3 HUGE compressors in the back, but we also have 40+ machines drawing from them. The problem with air faults is that the spike is short term, so by the time my machine stops and i notice it and go read the inlet gauge the pressure is back up to 5 bar. If we have a problem with 1 of our compressors shutting down, or if we have some jr engineers playing around and venting off huge amounts of air, we will have issues with the CMM's. Most of the time there is an err that says something about air, but sometimes not. We also have Zeiss and B&Sharpe CMM's, so between the 2 types of machines, at least 1 will let us know. Ooh wait, i don't know much about Duramax, do they use air???
[Ow...]
The DuraMax doesn't use air bearings, its driven solely on greased linear drives . I guess with new computer and Calypso version it could be a bug of some sort but, it could be multiple things. Dirty probe plate, high temperatures effecting either the CMM or the computer itself? If it's not an Duramax HTG (high temperature gradient) they're really only good up to 30°C - 86°F.

ACIS is all about CAD/graphics. He did put in a request for Hardware to contact me.

The shop floor is climate controlled, but it still gets up into the upper 70's in here mid day.
[Ad...]
In the past when we've had drives kick off it's been either a dirty scale or the machine needed to be warmed up....I use a warm up program that just moves all three axis continuously....I'll start at around 25% override and increase gradually until it's warmed up for 15 mins or so....a tech mentioned something about it helping distribute/soften the grease.
