[Cl...]
I'm curious to know if those of you working in medical device are experiencing the same slow down that we are? If so, have you been told when to expect things to pick back up?
[Ro...]
They got rid of about 20% of the people here, some were pretty obvious cuts but some really got me scratching my head..... We've been on 40 hours since this whole thing started, which is strange because ive been on 10 hours for almost the entire time i've been with this company, over 7 years. As for futures, who knows. We make knee & hip & shoulder implants, which is mostly elective, and our people in charge think that one day they're going to be literally standing in line to get that stuff done. so who knows. [Ke...]
I have heard that elective surgeries are picking up, but it's going to be hard to predict demand, until COVID is under control.

[Me...]
We do work for Instrumentation Laboratory. They have a machine that checks oxygen blood levels so we are buried with work. We've been told to expect this to keep going through to the first of the year. I suppose then the brakes will lock up on us.
[Ch...]
The turbocharger/supercharger industry is still hot right now. Our biggest problem was suppliers and automotive assembly plants shutting down but most everything is coming back. I noticed that the high end stuff didn't really slow down. COVID doesn't seem to have had an impact on the rich boy toy industry. Which by the way, don't forget to buy your Ram Truck TRX with the Hellcat engine. Everyone needs a 4x4 with a Hellcat. [Ja...]
I work for Caterpillar as part of their "Building and Construction Products" division. We assemble the majority of Cat's small/medium-sized excavators and dozers. Demand hasn't waivered much since January, so I'm guessing people still have dirt to push around and stuff to knock over? 🤣
[Ch...]
We have a ton of ex-caterpillar guys here.

[Ow...]
Supporting farm and construction equipment, we haven’t seen enough reduction in sales to affect the amount of employees we employ. We have had some delays related to parts, mostly overseas stuff but, have managed to find alternatives or something else to support revenue. The county I work in has around 300,000 people and we have had 292 confirmed cases of Covid. That is less than 0.1% of the population yet, the company I work for has started making us wear mask in and out of work and anytime we are expected to be within 6 feet of another.…smh 🙄 . A Dodge TRX-hell-cat truck, who the hell needs that kind of horsepower in a truck except to get tickets with. I will keep my 6.7 Cummins diesel with up to 1,050lb of pulling torque. [Ma...]
I used to work at CAT. Now I work for a medical device manufacturer making COVID detecting blood diagnostic machines. Business is good.
[sh...]
We are a 3rd tier supplier for the automotive industry. Def slow. here compared to before Covid. I want to say at least a 30% reduction in employees.
[Am...]
We manufacture for pretty much every industry so we have still been busy, back in march and april we actually saw an increase from the medical customers but that has slowed down now. It seems like this quarter is going to see a slow down in many industries.
[Cl...]
Starting to get worried. An entire dept. (product line) was told they all had to take their vacation all next week. At least I'll get a good parking space. 😃 That's part of the reason I've been so active on the forum this week. I'm running low on work.
