[Zo...]
I am new at Calypso, but really enjoy using it. I, however, found that the measurement is not repeating the way I think it would, but that may or may not be normal. Given the fact, that there is a 5 decimal measuring accuracy, it is difficult to trust the results unless it is repeatable. I mean different measurements on the same part with the same program, without moving or changing ANYTHING. For example a simple width measurement of 0.375" varied by as much as 0.017. A small part, held down with a spring clamp. I measured it with a micrometer and it is dead on. Totally unacceptable, of course. I haven't contacted ZEISS tech support yet, because it may be something I'm doing wrong. It is REALLY hard to believe that it is possibly a CMM error. Just throwing this out there to see if anyone has similar experience or a few thoughts about what may cause this. Yes, I do know that measurements should repeat 🙂 Any thoughts are appreciated Thank you
[Ia...]
Making sure you have a strong base alignment and looping that base alignment is probably the most sure-fire way to get repeatable results. If not, there are dozens of other things you'd need to check. Going to a training class would be your best option, if you haven't gone.
[Zo...]
I did attend a basic training class, just before the "world" was shut down, and hope to go to an advanced one as soon as I will be eligible. I do not know what looping refers to, but will read up on it and try that. Thank you
