How did you optimized your measuring room?

Lately there is a lot of debate in our measuring room on how we could optimize processes for better efficiency?

We currently implemented some measures:
-all meas. results are exported to Excel for faster transfer of data to SAP
-after each measurement there is a batch file, that plays sound notifying staff that the measurement is done
-all programs are optimized to measure faster (less probes, more efficient program etc...)

We do a lot of initial supplier measurements over CMM and main causes of lost times are:

1.)
usually we measure 5 parts, in which some take 2-3min to measure, some 5-15min, in the meantime the operator is doing something else, or has to go to warehouse, and when the program ends measuring the CMM stands still, this beegs the question->
-> Is it possible that there could be some kind of faster program setting that when the 1. part is finished measuring, the "User information" picture would come up, and the operator (or anyone else in the measuring room) could replace with second part, and just click next and it would start measuring the second part. Without the "Run again" and select proper mini-plan (there are a lot of them).
Also the result of the second part would be stored in exact place the first one was....

2.)
Can you save the result of all 5 parts measuring in one single excel file? - Compiled results?

What kind of measures did you take to optimized CMM efficiency and/or working time?

In addition to some of the things you are currently doing, we use a Schunk pneumatic pallet with removable Poke Yoke fixtures. Also every program is in autorun. I establish the start alignment once, then going forward all the programs are run from the base alignment - all characteristics. So the operator just loads the part in the fixture, clicks the icon, and start, that's about it.
