Comparison of 2 assembled multi material parts

Hi Everyone, 

I need to compare two samples of multimaterial assembled parts. I have scanned the pars obtaining 2 volumes. Each volume through the poligonalization creats 2 different mesh (one for each material). What is the proper workflow to compare the samples? My first idea is to create a cad form actual data for one sample and then compare the other, but the presence of two different materials makes the process more difficult. Could you help me?

One solution could be to import the "second" volume as new stage data to the existing volume in the project.
Then each part will have a polygonization per stage.

You could then use a surface comparison between stages to compare the scans to each other.
