PMI Import from Autodesk Inventor

I am fairly new to Calypso and am trying to experiment with PMI. I googled around quite a bit and couldn't find any information on this.

Since I am the only one who has been trained to use the CMM software, I wanted to try out the PMI feature in Calypso. I have to make all the CAD models myself and since I use Fusion360 for my personal projects I want to use Inventor for the CMM. I tried to export a STEP model that I annotated and clicked the option for 242 protocol, but I can't get the features to be imported into Calypso.

Is this just not possible, or am I doing something wrong? Do I need a specific license? Is PMI not supported from STEP files?

I fresh installed, without changing any options I modeled a 1"x1" cylinder, added tolerances of +-.01", CAD format export, select STEP file, clicked options, selected 242, save.

Went into Calypso, import cad, and loaded the step file.

I went into the STEP file, and while I am not an expert on the format or anything I did see some data that looked like tolerances in it.

Thanks.

I don't think that Calypso supports 242 at the moment.

It somewhat worked in 2018, but not fully, and now 2019 it is completely not working.

I am using Calypso 2019 with the newest update to Inventor, we just started up our CMM this Tuesday. I can save the step model and import the STEP into Inventor and the data shows up. I am guessing it has to do with no support for importing PMI with 242.

I'm glad you found that page for us Tom, it is nice to see some kind of confirmation it is currently officially not supported versus chasing a carrot on a stick.

Is there perhaps hope with Calypso 2020? It would be a fun feature to test out.
