[Cl...]
Our military division has requested I look into seeing if there is a way for the operators while away from the O-inspect to be alerted by way of a light when the program stops, or faults out. I'm sure that with PCM something like this might be possible, but we currently don't have PCM on this machine. Are there alternative methods that are offered by Zeiss, or even something I could add myself?
[Cl...]
Thanks Israel. I think they want a big bright light that they can spot form a distance.

[Ja...]
There is a light signal option in Extras-Settings-CMM-Light Signal, but I know nothing about it. The User Guide says "If you are interested in this function, contact the Carl Zeiss sales department.
[Ma...]
We are waiting on a quote from the sales rep for this very thing. I can give you details when I get them.
[To...]
Please sign in to view this quote. We just requested installation of light signal for our Contura. It is around 5.500$. There is no room for the light signal board inside our machine so an additional box has to be installed.
[Er...]
5.500$ for a fu*#&ng light? 😱 Thats the most absurd pricing from Ziess Iv'e heard so faar. How about a raspberry pi zero, a relay, what ever light souce you have around. Thats like 15$. If you need help with a schematic and code just let me know and I'll gladly do it for you... ....5.5k.... 😱
[Cl...]
Too much caffeine dude? Their pricing is extreme, but I will say they do offer premium products.
[To...]
Please sign in to view this quote. The reason for that crazy price is that even though there in the software it is possible to enable light signal. It need its own circuit board which is not part of standard configuration and there isn't even space for the circuit board either. I don't know much about circuit boards, but I guess it should be pretty easy to find that kind of space. Just tried a converter and it is not 5,5k but 4,7k Have you made a similar light signal before. Our production would really appreciate it. At least 10 times a day they go to our CMM just to find out it is not available.
[Ow...]
A simple motion sensor mounted somewhere close to the CMM might work? When it's running the light comes on, when it stop's the light goes off? Surely a way to reverse it's action? https://www.grainger.com/product/55JH15 ... 8744702630!

[Cl...]
Great. Three questions; 1] how does it alert the operator in the event the CMM stops, or faults? 2] What syntax to I change in the 4 screenshots to suit my machine/needs? 3] What type of file is the attachment? I downloaded it, but can't open it.

[Ri...]
Isnt there a PCM value for "CNC End Park Position"? This is always used at the end of the program, if the value can be captured and trigger a batch file, you could call in an air strike if you wanted. 🤣
