what is the difference between large and small facet size? what is the advantage or disadvantage of each of them?

Hi masoud,

you can find the info in the direct help of the SW and in the attached image.

Consider that if you have a larger area to find the greyvalues you are more precise and more stable because the distribution is clearer but you losing a little accuracy. To test the impact go in the creation dialog of your surface component and change the view on the bottom left side to reference length. Then adjust your facet size slightly to see how the change effects the strain measurement besides the finding of the surface component.
