[Cl...]
I have a datum surface that is a torus, any ideas on how to get creative here? The very end of the part (end of threads). I'm thing I might have to use a datum feature simulator?
[Ke...]
How is the torus being used as a datum? (using the central diameter, or the outer surface?) I use torus' all the time, to locate/control measurements, but they are precision ground, and I typically have 80degrees of curvature available. [Cl...]
The outer surface.
[Ke...]
...That's a sticky wicket, even with a full feature... If you're not measuring many parts (I deal with a lot of prototypes & benchmarking): Possibly a plane with a few tight circle paths, and use Outer Tangential. But if you are running for production, DFS is probably the way to go.
[Cl...]
The print for this part also has a surface profile callout with MMC bonus for the surface.
[Ke...]
🤣 🤣 We don't have time to train all of the engineers.
