[Cl...]
We are thinking of purchasing one of these. Thoughts, opinions? https://youtu.be/K9zOcB5bkT4
[Ca...]
Just curious, what situation has arisen where this is the solution to your problem? We have an inhouse made artifact here, that we sent out for certification. We run it when we update software, or suspect any problems, and compare our findings to the certification findings. I'd LOVE to own a Zeiss Artifact, by the way, those things are beautiful!
[Er...]
We have the "KMG-Check" and its fine. I use it both for checking the RT tables (we have 3 spheres on it) and the machines alone once a month. We have had some customers visits that really audited our quality control. I have showed them the KMG-Check and explained our routines. So far no unhappy customers. My only complain is that its quite heavy for my girl arms to carry around our between our workshops. But its a lot easier then our koba step gauges, so I should not complain. [SH...]
Look like very expensive, your company don't have any lockdown related financial problem!!!!! Instead of artefact usually I use a master sample for every jobs, lot of them are supplied by customers. Artifact is the best option if budget available. If you are using advanced machine like prizmo and your checking the parts that are very complicated something like Aerospace vehicle parts, aircraft parts , turbine or compressor blade etc then it will not be a liability. Using this artifact , can we check CMM geometrical errors?? Look like CMM calibration artifact.
[Ri...]
They are great to have if you are worried about your machine and if it is out of calibration between visits. What I also like about them is that the measurement plan is supplied with the artifact, and typically the styli required to measure it. It kind of leaves a good majority of operator/programmer error out of it. That way when it shows something out of specification no one can question if you are measuring it correctly or not. [Is...]
It has some additional uses.. I used to check different scanning strategies and probes in the cylinder with the calibrated step.
[Am...]
I'd love to have one, unfortunately i think it would be a tough sell for me with the price and the limited use it would see. But its great to have and have the pre-made program to check that way no one can disagree on the results. I would honestly like it to play around with when im testing out and comparing methods. Plus $3,000 for calibration of the artifact, plus $3.500 for program from Zeiss to run the verification routine. The program is well written and the reports are quite thorough.
