[Da...]
So I have spent the last 4 days working on a Mitutoyo Bright CMM trying to get it back in to manufacturer spec. Just a heads up if you let oil get in to the air-bearing it really screws up your accuracy. Don't let it happen clean your filters. Get an air dryer if you need one. Do what every it takes. The first time I saw what oil can do was on a new Mitutoyo Crysta Apex with a design flaw. The flaw allowed oil to get in to the balance cylinder. Each year the calibration was off 8 to 12 microns Mitutoyo would clean it then back to 2.5 until the next calibration. But if you get oil in the air-bearings it takes a year or so to get all of the oil out of your machine. So clean your CMM check the air-filters Those DuraMax owners "You Ain't Got No Worries". Below are the repeatability test for the Mitutoyo Bright. Look at the Y axis up to 15 microns dev. All because of oil, just a little oil.Capture1.PNGCapture.PNG
[Me...]
Amen. We've had dryers all along. But have had water in the lines a few times when the dryers froze. Bad stuff.

I use this at Company's I work with in Matamoros Mexico where the Humidity is 90,000% The tank is connected to an auto drain valve Will help to not overload your air dryers.Capture3.JPGCapture2.JPG
[Me...]
Ours is about 1.5 meters square. Part of an Ingersall-Rand air system for the whole machine shop.
