Depth measurement of small bore

Hello,

I'm working on a circuit board and I'm trying to get a depth measurement of a small bore with a nominal of depth of 0.056. I'm using the DK 0,5 L22 probe downward in the -Z direction.

What I've done:
-Take a plane measurement of the bottom of the bore.
-Use a Perpendicular to compare the Bottom bore plane with the Top surface plane and using the depth measurement there as that depth.

My measurements are averaging 0.045. I don't believe this is the correct way to get depth, would anyone have any suggestions?

Thank you,
-Joe

I think caliper distance will be the better option, you can check average value, minimum valueand maximum value. Can you possible to check perpendicular distance using plane to plane feature??

Hey Shabu,

Much appreciated, I was able to get more accurate numbers with the caliper distance.
