Self Centered Probing

Has anyone been having issues with self centered probing points in Calypso 2019 Version 6.8.08? We have run the same program for years using self centered probing on single points to inspect the center point of the radius in the slot, now the stylus just continues to drive in Z+ direction until it slides completely out of the slot and errors out.

The reason for the self centering points is that in the past we had some float along the X axis which self centering followed. Until the update to 2019 it has not been an issue. Ideas?

As I cannot tell exactly what you are trying to probe I can only give limited support.

Have you tried locking a particular axis? What sensor are you using?

I'm sure you've heard this before, but self-centering on the XXT is a hit or miss due to it being a passive head.

I tend to only have success when it is with a vector that is normal to only one axis.

From your picture, I don't think you want to lock the Y, but maybe the Z. It looks like you are trying to probe in from -Y direction.

Attempting to probe one point in Z- direction....then another in the Z+ direction.

Although it's hit or miss this family of parts has proven programs that have worked well for years checking a large number of parts....this issue just popped up.

Ah OK. Well, I'd call software support, and talk with them about it.

It appears that an unintended software enhancement was added.
