Near net part using model

Hello,

If I have a model of a part that my machinist has roughed out to a near net shape over a few operations, is there an easy way to program the CMM using the cad model to let me know how much stock he has to clean-up or if he has cut too much? Similar to using an offset function on a CAD program?

If I under stand your question. You will want to set the Smallest or Biggest size depending on part. With a wide search before nominal for the feature. That could also include a increasing the search after nominal. Then use formulas to calculate what you are looking for.
