Stylus size for .100 dia holes

First-time caller, long time lurker.
We are running Calypso 2018 on an Accura with VAST XTR.
The XTR allows the head to rotate 15 degrees.
I have a bare aluminum part appx 18" diameter X .100" thick walls, with .100" dia holes every 9 degrees around the diameter.

Currently, to check all those holes the program is using an "L" with a 1mm stylus.
These are fixtured parts, after manual locating, they are ran using CNC-Start.

Would it make sense to change to a star probe and increase the stylus dia to 2mm?
I'm thinking, using a star vs Qualifying and rotating the "L" is a win already.
But the 2mm, fitting into a .100" hole on a slight angle is something I need help with.

I try to stay away from styli that are too close to the diameter size, as doing so can give some funky results... 1mm seems ideal, to me, but you may be able to get away with a 1.35 or 1.5mm.
I'm sure the topic is covered in"The Cookbook" (which I do not have with me today), but I try not to exceed 50% of the hole diameter size.

Though it might not be applicable for your current application, the benefit of using a larger probe with a smaller shank increases your ability to measure circles off axis with fewer shanking problems. For example, a 3mm probe would likely come with a 2mm shank but you can find a 3mm probe with a 1.5 or 1.0mm shank.
