According to GD&T standard is should be the centre,but you should ask this question to your customer. Customer word is the ultimatum....

Thanks. The ball is already rolling on initiating customer contact. I was just looking for feedback on what people thought. I've never seen a datum called out like this. Typically, the 2 surfaces are similar like on a width of a part, pocket, etc. The drawing has no basic dimensions. They use ±.xxx on everything and it is not clear which surfaces are driving the dimensions They do use position for the hole to A B and C, and a couple of symmetries, but my guess is they aren't up on their GD&T.

That is how you would establish a centerplane as a datum on a feature of size. This unfortunately is not a feature of size due to the unopposed surfaces. The drawing needs to be corrected.
