Highlighting an Element in the Element-Explorer without any follow up action.

Hello there,

i have the following question:

I want to highlight the selected alignment in the Element Explorer without setting it active. It should just be highlighted as shown below. The activation of the alignment shall work via a seperate button. However, i found no way to just highlight some element in the explorer. Can someone help?
