[Da...]
I know this topic has been covered but I cant find it searching the forum. I'd like to make a program read only so that overwriting is disabled, someone at one time provided a solution by editing one of the files within the program folder. Is anyone familiar with this method or possibly have another solution other that the user settings restriction?
[Mi...]
Never messed with it myself, but I recall there being 2 ways. 1) Calypso allows you to make multiple user accounts, and assign permissions accordingly. A lot of places have one for the operators that only lets them open programs, run them, save results etc. but not save changes to the program. 2) Use Windows permissions to lock files from editing, under Properties -> Security -> Permissions. I think this can be done to the "inspection" file in the program folder to prompt the user for a password when they try to save any changes. [To...]
In the privileges settings for the user, you can un-tick the one or both options. So, if a program is written by Master, user User can's save Master's program, nor can he execute it if he modified it.
